Past Events:

Maida Hill Neighbourhood Forum Annual General Meeting 2026 – Monday 18th May at 7pm at Emmanuel Church, 389E Harrow Road, London W9 3NA.
 

Key points of the meeting were as follows:

Neighbourhood Plan
1. Neil Reeder outlined the key points of the Plan, which was the main focus of the Forum in 2025
2. Request was made to circulate the note to attendees, alongside links to the Plan and to the new Constitution, as well as statistics on overcrowding and population density
3. Attendee raised question on betting shops in the area, and Forum will keep the issue under review (text on issue in Neighbourhood Plan is set out on p38)

Other Forum activities
4. Elaine Arthur outlined work of the Forum in promoting parklets in Maida Hill (in particular relating to “Pan Park”), and on improving council consulation processes
5. Elaine discussed the importance of addressing oversupply of HMOs, and also outlined issues with parking enforcement on Harrow Road and ongoing engagement with the council on the issue

Arts and Culture
6. Steve Shaw (Paddington Arts) and Kamal El Alaoui (Spiderweb Arts) were thanked for their overviews, with major opportunities ahead for the area as a result of the investment in refurbishing and extending the Paddington Arts building

Finance
7. Ongoing discussion with council on reimbursement of funds for Referendum expenses was identified.

Election of new committee
8. Meeting thanked Vonley Joseph (previous chair) and Cllr Regan Hook for their time and efforts while members of the committee
9. Committee members to consider ways to increase out-reach towards new members

New Constitution
10. After discussion, proposed new constitution was agreed by 18 votes in favour and none against.

Any Other Business
11. Communications with residents was raised as an issue. On behalf of MHNF, Neil Reeder committed to send out quarterly newsletter to main MHNF email database
12. Ways to improve AGM were also raised and it was agreed that draft agenda would be circulated to same recipients a week prior to the AGM

  • Maida Hill Neighbourhood Forum Annual General Meeting – the Forum held its AGM for 2025 on Wednesday 18th June at 7pm at Emmanuel Church, 389E Harrow Road, London W9 3NA. Speakers included a representative from Westminster City Council on community empowerment, and a lively discussion followed.
