Maida Hill walkabouts on 26 November

A quick reminder that the second round of "Placecheck" walks around our neighbourhood will take place on Saturday 26 November 2016, 10am-12:30pm, starting from Maida Hill Market. This will be followed by a drop-in session at Maida Hill Place (at 2-4 Fernhead Rd) 12:30-13:30, where you will be able to further share your views on what needs to be improved in the neighbourhood and meet other Neighbourhood Forum members.

Many thanks to those of you who already confirmed attendance at Placecheck walks; your responses have been noted and we look forward to meeting you on Saturday morning. Please note we are trying to arrange for an online Placecheck tool to be set up in time for the walks, so do bring your smart phone or tablet to help us record comments online and take photographs. Don't worry if you aren't comfortable recording things digitally, we will have paper maps and note paper too. Please wear comfortable and warm clothes. No rain is expected and the temperatures may be around 7-9°C.

If you haven't responded yet, it is still not too late - below is a reminder of why we are organising the walks and what we will be recording.

1. Why?

This will be the next step in finding out what we like or what we think should be changed in our neighbourhood. The results will be fed into the Maida Hill Neighbourhood Plan – a community-led planning policy which will guide development in our area.

2. Who is invited?

Anyone who lives, works, runs businesses, owns land or buildings in the Harrow Road Ward. If you attended the first round of walks on 8 October you are more than welcome to join us again and perhaps explore a different area this time.

3. What will we do during the Placecheck walks?

There will be four groups, each covering a different part of our neighbourhood, as shown on the attached map.

We'll list anything in the area we think should be protected and enhanced, as well as those things which are bad for our neighbourhood and need to be improved, removed or replaced. These could be buildings, public spaces, landscaping features or development sites. We will mark them on maps; take notes and photographs.

4. What will we do after the walkabouts

The results of both rounds of the walkabouts will be combined and presented at the next public meeting of the Forum in early 2017.

5. How do I sign up?

Please let us know if you would like to join us and whether you would prefer to place-check a particular area. Feel free to pass on this invite to your friends and neighbours!
